The current trend in high-end lingerie seems to be very similar to the current trend in high-end eating: keep it simple and make it with good ingredients. Award-winning Korean-American designer, Jean Yu is doing just that with her line of silk lingerie that is soft, minimalistic and feminine.
The thick straps she incorporates into her designs contrast the soft, sheer fabrics she uses in the bodies of her pieces, creating an extremely modern look without being too severe. Given the price tag on these items, we are unlikely to see Jean Yu's lingerie make it into the mainstream, but we are looking forward to the trickle-down effect of her influence in the industry. It's not surprising that a selection her ready-to wear "Seperates" pieces have made it into the permanent collection of New York's Fashion Institute of Technology.
